Delhi, the capital of India, is a beautiful city crowded with parks, monuments and ancient buildings. We stayed in an incredible hotel called the Imperial!
On our first day, we went to see the Lotus Temple; the Lotus Temple is shaped like a lotus and is a temple of the Baha’i religion. This is a faith that believes in world peace and the oneness of humankind, and seeks to bring all religions to a state of mutual peace, allowing them to all follow their own beliefs, but in harmony with others’.
After this, we went to Humayun’s tomb, the burial place of one of the Mughal emperor’s, it was lovely and so different to the Taj Mahal! We had a YUM lunch in the park next to it and carried on to our next stop: Lodhi Garden.
Lodhi Garden is like a mini public park, with lush greenery and some ancient buildings. We explored there and had some ice cream!Next, we drove around Lodhi Art District, an area with planned graffiti adorning the walls beautifully.
After this we saw India Gate, a war memorial for the soldiers who died in the Second World War. All of their names were engraved in the gate!
The next day, we had to leave at midday, so we enjoyed the MASSIVE pool! We had some nice meals and the breakfast buffet was great.
