Jaipur is the capital of Rajasthan and was our last stop there. Here we did a mix of cultural activities and sightseeing.

Me and my brother did a block printing workshop; we decorated pillowcases by stamping carved wooden blocks into colour pads and then imprinting it onto the pillowcase. It was super fun!!

We also visited the Patrica Gate (an ornately decorated gate) and the Pink Haveli: a palace overlooking a bustling road with carved jali screens that meant that the queens could look out without anybody outside the palace being able to see in.

There’s also an astronomy center built by a maharaja! I has sundials a loads of other cool equipment.

On our last night we went to an elephant sanctuary that takes in elephants that have been cruelly tamed by people to ride or for tourists to ride. We walked with the elephants and we fed them! It was really fun, and we also ate dinner there.

    We had been to jaipur before but I’ve never seen the Patricia gate. Really beautiful. Very jealous. We went to the elephants but really only shopped which we did a lot!! You did not show you block printing. We went and did indigo block printing in Udaipur and there they use a mud resist rather than wax so it was very interesting. Is it getting horribly hot? I miss the weather a lot but I love spring with the garden coming back to life and.p the very noisy birds. Love loveday
