Cultural activities in Jogja!

In Jogja, we did loads of cultural activities. They were all incredible!

We did:

. Traditional batik making

. Pandan leaf weaving

. Learning how to make tempe crisps

. Gamelan playing

. Cycle/horse and cart ride around the village

. Dinner at the bale raos (sultan’s feast)

We learnt so much and it was great!

The painting stage
The first wash, solidifies and brings out color
A stage that I only did because I suggested it: using traditional colored powders to create a blended sunset effect!
The final wash, makes the color stat, changes the wax color to white and completes the masterpiece!
